Maternal Mental Health Specialist
I am a Cognitive Behavioral psychologist with a specialization in the diagnosis and treatment of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs). I work with women both in person and via telehealth throughout New York and Connecticut. I am honored to join with women as they navigate their matrescence, or transition into motherhood. My intention is to help each woman untangle her unique emotional experience during this formative moment in her life, so that she may thrive in her identity as a mother, as well as in her evolving relationship with herself, others, and the world around her. To this end, I integrate evidence-based interventions and strategies into my understanding of each unique woman, so as to create individualized support plans that are actionable, realistic, and effective.
Matrescence is a transformative experience for each woman, and I am humbled to hold space for my clients as they discover their internal strengths and practice new ways of coping. In my work, I have the privilege of joining with women as they not only explore their experience of motherhood, but also as they come to see themselves as dynamic individuals with a multitude of meaningful identities.
My clients value my capacity to integrate evidence-based interventions and coping strategies with a relational style that is warm, collaborative, and goal-directed. I support women in creating personalized peripartum support plans that are realistic and tailored to their unique concerns, goals, values, and strengths.
Warm, relatable, and collaborative.
When a woman becomes a mother, she gives birth to a new identity that deserves to be nurtured, supported, and cared for deeply.
