The New Village

The modern mother’s village in the United States has evolved. Physicians and midwives are still the most trusted and indispensable care providers in any mother’s village, but women are now seeking out other practitioners, specialists, and healers to be part of their care team, thanks to increased awareness of the benefits on social media, podcasts, and a new age of perinatal informational books. And for good reason.

A 2020 study suggests that there is evidence to support the role of mind-body practitioners like yoga instructors and acupuncturists in reducing anxiety and depression in infertile women and potentially increasing pregnancy rates.

A 2018 review showed that 56% of women who used pelvic floor physical therapists reported being cured of stress incontinence, common after childbirth, compared with 6% of women in control groups.

According to the American College of Obstetricians of Gynecologists (ACOG) and Postpartum Support International (PSI), about 15% - 21% of expecting and new mothers will suffer from perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and could benefit from the support of maternal mental health specialists.

MyNestwell is proud to be a trusted resource of board-certified physicians and midwives looking to more fully—and personally—support their patients.

Hear from physicians & midwives

I have peace of mind to know that I can send my fertility patients to MyNestwell and know that they can get the help they need in addition to the medical care that I provide them.
-Laura Meyer, MD, Reproductive Endocrinologist
I see new moms when they are most overwhelmed, but our appointments typically revolve all around the baby’s needs. By sharing MyNestwell with them, I get to let them know that I care about their needs, too.
-Daniel Mohrer, MD, Pediatrician
I’m invested in the well-being of my patients—beyond the birth—so being able to send them to a resource that takes care of them in ways I can’t has been amazing.
-Nuranisa Rae, CNM, Certified Nurse Midwife
